POST "Retro"

With the dawn of my printer/scanner dying.
It's time to look back (AND SEE IF I HAVE ANYTHING TO UPDATE THIS BLOG WITH!!!!!!!)

Here's a poster I did for Sick Kids Hospital when I first started learning Illustrator.

My limited knowledge of the program and my bias' toward "THE TRADITIONAL!"made it frustrating at envisioning how I could best use THIS THING!
Which was mostly FORCED and unappealing.(See Illustration below)

After "many broken EGGS the omelette was made."
I kept it simple.

It proved to be effective and has been used several times since.
WHO'D A THUNK IT?
Even though my technical skills have since caught up.
I still prefer things to look EARTHY and REAL. (Which doesn't exclude digital by the way)

How ever you wrap it...
....it still comes down to this.

HOW YOU SAY THINGS?

...as opposed to my question of preference.

WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO SAY?
(complimented by the previous question.)

Having said that... I still prefer the traditional bent! (I suspect it's because of what I grew up with.)

Now back to rummaging through the files and
flyers!

Would You Rather...?

This is something my 9 year old did in school. It asks the question,Would you rather...? and then the student has to fill in the options.
( where was this when I was in school?) anyway, you tell me.

Would you Rather...?

1. ...fall into a snake pit?

2. ...be kissed by a girl?

3. ...be crushed by a bolder?

4. ...be in school for eternity?

I vote for number two. (via my wife of course!)

This was done by my seven year old.

and my four year old.

The following charicatures are from the past semester.Shortly after my BrushPen died (again) I decided to go with the Brush. A challenge for sure!

Here is the logo I designed for the Kids Club last year.

What a privelage to share my gifts.
Great kids, heaps of laughter!

Currrently I am animating three short promos for the Kids Club,
will post samples in the not-to-distant-future (hopefully!)

Ciao for now!

He is Risen!

Jesus said,
"The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men,
be crucified and on the third day be raised again."
